When mounting flexible solar panels, MC4 connectors typically can’t be placed underneath the panels like with rigid panels. These mounts allow you to securely attach MC4 connectors to the same flat surface as your flexible solar panels.
Mounting Instructions
Fill the small gutter on the underside of the mount with the same adhesive used for your solar panels (or else use Sikaflex 522 or equivalent). Apply generously—ideally, a small amount of adhesive should squeeze out on all sides when pressing the mount into place. This ensures a strong, weather-resistant bond.
Cable Management
The mount supports zip ties up to 6.3 mm wide (4 mm shown in photos).
Position the connection point between the male/female MC4 connectors directly above the central gutter. This helps prevent the connectors from sitting in pooled water.
Printing Recommendations
Infill: 30% is sufficient
Walls: Ensure adequate wall thickness for durability
Material: ASA recommended for UV resistance
Supports:
Required only under the zip tie bridge sections
Not needed under the main body (the gutter prints cleanly without support)
Bed adhesion: Use brim ears on the corners to minimize warping
