A very sturdy water cooling jacket for the Hybrid 98 cryocooler which requires no paste or epoxy to be sealed.
Hardware required:
M2.5 screws
M2.5 inserts
O-rings/gaskets (will update with the exact size later)
silicone grease
TWDLG-S External Flow Guiding Joint Fitting for Reservoir G1/4 (I got mine from this listing)
7.5mm OD rubber grommet (here)
PETG
High level overview (will update later):
Insert the M2.5 heated inserts (10 in total)
Press the G1/4 joint fittings into the water circulation ports. The ports are intentionally a tight fit and not threaded. Using a wrench, press the fittings in as you rotate them so the threads are cut. This creates an excellent seal that hasn't leaked at all.
PLA would likely break right here. Don't use it. At least use PETG.
The two halves mate together and are sealed by cutting a gasket and pressing it into the female half, which pushes up against the other half and makes an excellent seal.
If you use PLA, then it will crack in about a week due to the pressure. To ensure a water tight seal this was created with close tolerances.
Put the O-ring around the top and bottom parts of the cryocooler where you see the O-ring recesses on the water cooler.
Rub a bit if silicone grease on the o-rings. This not only helps it seal, but makes putting the whole thing together much easier.
Pass the power cable through the smaller port on the top (You will need to temporarily remove the plug using a Molex Power Connector Pin Remover Computer Wire Extractor tool like this)
Pass the power cable through a rubber grommet, then (with the aid if silicone grease), slide the grommet all the way up the power cable.
You can now push the two halves together and insert the M2.5 screws. Insert all the screws and tighten them a little, then go around and tighten them all equally bit by bit. Just don't tighten them down fully one by one right away, that causes some issues with stress distribution or might cause a leak later.
