UPDATE supports up to 7 cords

I designed this multi-cord connector to help DIY enthousiasts -like myself- to organise cords and ropes neatly to be used as suspensions for hanging light-weight objects for decorative purposes. eg. Macrame projects.

Please note that it has not been tested to withstand heavy weights. In order to use it safely outdoors, consider using PETG. For indoor use PLA should be fine.

If you dont use Fusion and you need a specific model, dont hesitate to ask

Uses/Compatibily/Ideas

  • Cotton rope (usually 2-3mm) for Macrame

  • Paracord (4-5mm) for hanging plant pots, bird feeders etc

  • Jute rope or other natural ropes for hanging decorative items like ceramic bells, small stones, chimes etc

  • DIY braids

Parametric (Instructions)

in the provided Fusion File it is possible to change

  • the number of cords (safe_cord_count) 3-7

  • the diameter of the cord (safe_diameter) 3mm-8mm

open the f3d file, navigate to Modify--->Change Parameters and enter the number of cords as well as the the diameter.

Note that the default wall thickness is 2mm but can also be changed to 2,5 if needed.

Also note that a clearence is 0,5mm so eg for a 3mm string the holes are actually 3,5mm

Printing Instructions

  • PLA/PETG

  • 50% infill

  • 5 top/bottom layers

  • No Supports needed

Assembly

Uneven number of cords need to be tighten with knots like in the images below.

If you use synthetic cords, consider burning the edges

If you are going to make a loop with cord using the upper holes, start there first.

For even number of strings you can cross them without need to tie any knots. Use a thin hook made of a piece of wire if your strings are very thin in order to get them through the holes easily
