The stock throttle pedal with just the spring had to little resistance. After searching for a solution I found that higher priced pedals have hydraulic dampers installed and decided to create my own mod using a AD1425-5.

Materials needed

  • 1x AD1425-5 Hydraulic Damper

  • 2x M3x8 Screws

  • 6x M4x8 Screws

  • 4x M4 Washers ~8mm (optional but recommended)

  • 4x M4 Washers ~20mm

  • 2x M3 Heat Set Inserts

  • 2x M4 Heat Set Inserts

  • 4x M4 Heat Set Inserts Short (4mm)

  • Threadlocker medium (optional)

Note: It should be possible to use longer M4 screws + nuts instead of the short M4 inserts but I did not test this.

Print Parameters

  • Layer Hight: 0.2mm

  • Wall Loops: 5

  • Infill: 15%

  • Supports: no

Note: I printed everything in ASA but I assume PLA should also work.

Assembly

Note: Do not install the parts one after the other to the pedal! Preassable everything first then install as one to make it easier ;-)

  1. Install the two M3 inserts on upper fixture.

  2. Install the four short M4 inserts on the two outer parts of the lower fixture (make sure to install the inserts from opposing sides on the two parts).

  3. Install the two long M4 inserts on the middle part of the lower fixture.

  4. Press fit the damper into the the upper fixture.

  5. Assemble the lower fixture by placing the optional washers on the inside and outside of the outer parts and screw it to the middle part. Don't fully tighten it so the part can still move freely. Apply the optional threadlocker two the two screws to prevent them from coming loose.

  6. Insert the damper into the lower fixture and loosely screw on the included nuts.

  7. Install the fixture by first screwing in the lower part with the four remaining M4 screws and the the 20mm washers through the last two holes on the pedal base (triangular & trapezial) but don't tighten them yet.

  8. Fix the upper part to the pedal through the round hole with the printed washers and the two M3 screws.

  9. Now move everything in place and tighten the four screws on the bottom.
