MadCatz M.M.O.7+ mouse wheel mod

With this quick print and a not so quick disassembly of the mouse, you can improve the usability of the horizontal mouse wheel. With the uploaded size it only works when the thumb cluster is all the way forward, otherwise the wheel collides and can't be turned. It also can't span the whole length of the original mouse wheel, as there is a cable connecting the main body of the mouse to the thumb cluster in the way.

To remove the mouse wheel, you need to take off the thumb cluster:

1. Loosen the vertical screw that locks the adjustment (shown in the second picture)

2. Take off the circlip off the horizontal adjustment screw (I used fine needlenose pliers)

3. Pull out the adjustment screw.

4. The thumb cluster is now loose and only dangling from its cable.

You might want to take out the mouse wheel for pressing on the modded wheel. This can be done by just pulling on it with gentle force. Depending on your printer tolerances, the modded wheel can be pushed on by hand or it needs some persuasion. Whenever you work on the mouse wheel, watch out for the small stem (shown in the third picture) as it is very fragile.
There is a non-zero chance to damage your device which I'll take no responsibility for.

The exact position of the mouse wheel might need some adjustment for it to clear the thumb cluster cable below and the thumb cluster itself. You could also reduce the diameter a bit, either in the slicer or with the provided CAD files.

For the color I recommend Prusament Galaxy Black, as it blends in very nice with the rest of the mouse. Of course you can also go for an accent color if that's more your vibe.
