Upfront! I am running a Discord server so its easier to talk about and share thoughts, ideas, improvements. All further updates to the design, functions and software will be available on my Discord!
As a build guide for the battery tube check the guide you can find in the following link, that part is exactly the same like on the gremlin V1:
The "MyFirst" digital night vision / camera test setup contraption.
It cam into existence as I had ordered some small CVBS displays and just wanted to use it for something, I then quickly made this design to help, test digital low light cameras or thermal cameras if working correctly, The setup could not be simpler and consists of a battery chamber for a single 18350 cell, a power button, a voltage booster (5volt), the display and of course a 5 pin JST plug to connect it to your thermal core or low light camera. In my setup I connected two JST plugs in parallel as the pionout of thermal and low light camera are different.
This could be a fun Projects for kids wanting to do the same what Daddy does with his expensive NVG setup. Some proper tinker bonding time.
There are two front frames included, one is meant to use a low light camera, the othr for a 21x21mm thermal core.
You push the power button and thats it, you receive the picture on the little display, end of story.
Cant get much simpler then that, therefor the tittle "My first" known from many different sort of kids toys.
Even so it is super simple the linked low light camera perform pretty amazing for its price, same goes for available thermal cores.
More pictures showing the inside and instructions will be added soon!
