I recently bought some Sortimo T-Boxx model 320 sorting cases to store various small stuff. However the prices of the inset boxes are pretty high. So I went looking for 3D designs to print myself using cheap PETG filament. I found this great model by Heyus and printed some to test. However I found out that they do not really fit well in the corners of the T-Boxx. Otherwise they are great.

Fortunately Heyus shared his parametric F3D file so I decided to redesign it. In the end I did a complete redesign form the ground up using Heyus's parametric model. My remix also more closely resembles the original Sortimo inset boxes and is easier to print because of the seperate feet.

I uploaded all sizes from 1x1 to 4x4. With the included F3D you can easily create any other sizes, but If you are not able to please feel free to ask me.

Bill of Materials:

  • Filament of your choice for the inset box and feet. You need to print four feet per one inset box.

  • Some glue of your choice to glue the feet to the inset box.

I printed this in the cheapest PETG I could find (Sunlu) with a 0.5mm nozzle at 0.25 layer height. Any other filaments, other nozzle sizes and other layers heights will probably work fine also. Benefit of using a 0.5 nozzle is it slices and prints with only two walls, so it prints very quickly. Using a 0.4 nozzle takes about 1.5x time.

If you have any questions or comments please let me know. Let me know how your print turned out by posting a make.

All credit for designing the original inset box and creating the parametrix F3D model goes to the original designer Heyus!
