I cannot stress enough that the lint‑roller mafia has this industry in a chokehold — and they must pay. I have yet to find a single lint roller that lasts long enough to justify buying refills. Instead, you’re forced to purchase a brand‑new one every time. Most of these rollers are cheaply made, low‑quality injection‑molded plastic that barely survives the lifespan of the adhesive sheets.

So help me take a stand against these lint‑roller mafia families by printing the DEFLUFFER.

Yes, there are several similar designs available, but most of them are still primarily plastic and will eventually fail you. This design aims to break that cycle.

This DEFLUFFER has real strength thanks to its use of a paint‑roller chassis. This gives the tool significantly more durability and long‑term reusability compared to traditional plastic lint‑roller handles.

Specifications

Designed for standard lint‑roller refills measuring 100 mm (3.937 in) in length with an inner diameter of 38 mm (1.496 in).

You will need a paint roller with a 6 mm (0.236 in) wire shaft, typically used for 100 mm (3.937 in) or 150 mm (5.91 in) rollers.

Printing Recommendations

  • Material: PETG is recommended (PLA will wear out quickly due to friction and may soften over time.)

  • Walls: 5

  • Infill: 15% gyroid

  • Supports: None required

Assembly (refer to photos)

  1. Insert the bottom lint‑roller cap into the refill.

  2. Slide the refill onto the paint‑roller shaft.

  3. Insert the bushing next.

    • The bushing is intentionally tight to prevent the roller from slipping off during use.

  4. Close the roller with the top lint‑roller cap.

And voilà — no more buying flimsy lint‑roller handles ever again.

As always, the attached Onshape file is available if you’d like to remix or modify the design.

Thanks, and have fun printing!
