I got tired of loose line. This simple F360 design has parameters for spool inner diameter and height so you can print to fit whatever size you have. I use retainer width of 0.6mm for 0.3 print layer and print in vase mode so it's really quick. May also be used to hold line on spinning reels. After field testing this summer, I may color code for different line weights.
The included prusaslicer .3mf file is setup with a brim (because there is so little contact) and prints in vase mode.
I attached a few .stl files (suffix has ID (inner diameter) and H (height), but since there are a wide variety of spool sizes use the F360 parameters and print custom retainers.
