Here is my version of the ubiquitous fillament clip. It was inspired by similar versions, but this one is a creation from scratch.
Most of the filament clips that I have tried either were too loose on the reel side, and/or didn't grip the filament to keep it from slipping out and coming loose. The one I came closest to liking also had a shape that stuck out from the outside of the reel, which I didn't like to see when I used a vacuum bag to store the filament.
So when I designed this one, the factors I wanted to include were:
Straight wall on the outside of the clip.
Tighter grip on the reel wall
Tighter spring action to grab the filament and keep it from slipping out.
Smaller profile in general.
UPDATE: I replaced the original STL with one having a more rounded end on the outside. I didn't like the sharp corner pressed against the vacuum storage bag.
Note: I suggest that this be printed in PETG. When I tried PLA it was too brittle and the filament clamps snapped. PETG works better.
