This is a replacement handle for the GE Spacemaker XL Microwave.
You need to print this on its side, and I did use organic supports for the screw mounts.
I wanted a beefy print, so I used the following settings. You can adjust as you see fit. Overall, this handle is completely more secure/sturdy than any of the replacement handles I have bought over the years, when you could still get them.
Settings used:
Gyroid infil 25% infil
7 walls
Tree > organic >critical areas only for the screw mounts
This print was in PLA as i wanted to test fit it and see how it worked. I will probably reprint in PETG in the future.
There are two versions as the area that the handle tends to always fail is at the bottom mounting point due to it taking the majority of the opening force.
GE_spacemakerXL_microwave-handle-extended_hole - the screw hole at the bottom goes 5mm into the handle. (This allows me to use a longer screw to ensure better stability/strength over time)
GE_spacemakerXL_microwave-handle-no_ext - was just long enough for my screw, which is flush to the face of the handle. (had concerns of this being a fail point, which led me to use a longer screw that goes into the handle itself)
