A coin that is seemingly defying gravity using some fishing line & magnets (magnet size 5/16" diameter x 5/64" thick.) For the magnets, I recommend getting the strongest ones you can find. It is OK to use ANY filament other than TPU or TPE, so PETG, PLA, ASA, and ABS are great!
For when SLICING the coin and top piece, go to the layer where the hole is almost complete, (For example, the layer the hole closes up is 18; go down 2 layers to 16. Always go down 2 layers.) and schedule a pause or just watch for that layer and pause it manually.
BUILDING:
Gather your supplies, the fishing line and parts, and glue, if necessary, (magnets should be in your printed pieces.)
Put the frame together. DO NOT PUT THE PLUG IN YET!
Thread the fishing line through the small hole on the bottom of the Coin and tie it up GOOD.
Feed the other end of the fishing line through the small hole on the top base of the frame.
Take the end that is sticking out the bottom of the base and have the star coins' magnet point touching the frame's magnet point.
Pull the line very slowly until the coin is not too low or too high for it to look like it's floating. This step is VERY IMPORTANT.
When the fishing line is the right length, feed it through the plug for the base and tie it on. Note: you may need to enlarge the hole or use a safety pin to make it the right size.
