What

The sphericon is a solid that has a continuous developable surface with two congruent, semi-circular edges, and four vertices that define a square. It is a member of a special family of rollers that, while being rolled on a flat surface, bring all the points of their surface to contact with the surface they are rolling on. It was discovered independently by carpenter Colin Roberts (who named it) in the UK in 1969, by dancer and sculptor Alan Boeding of MOMIX in 1979, and by inventor David Hirsch, who patented it in Israel in 1980. -- Wikipedia

Printing

Normally this kind of shape would require support. Feel free to try your favorite supporting method. It could be challenging due to the fact that a gap needs to be added between the support and the object to avoid fusing together. That could lead to topping of the main object due to poor stability.

The model file section contains a multi-part 3mf object. Basically a block with a piece cut off using the exact shape of the sphericon body is setup as support during printing. This won't work if you are printing using same materials for both parts. If you have a multiple color capable printer, you can print the bottom block using PETF and the spericon using PLA. After printing, the two pieces can be easily pulled apart. Check the included screenshot for the proper orientation.

Alternatively, you can let the slicer to add PETG at support interface and set the z distance to 0. A multi-filament capable printer is again required.

If you don't have a multi-filament capable printer, the recommended method is to slice the object into two parts in the middle to print, then glue or snap the two half pieces together.
