Lowe's Solar Flood Light Mesh Node Bracket System

Lowe's Harbor Breeze Solar Light (Item #1234868 | Model #ZDL1362): https://www.lowes.com/pd/Harbor-Breeze-60-Lumens-1-Watt-Black-Warm-White-Solar-LED-Spot-light/5018244381

This is a custom mounting bracket system designed to convert a widely available, inexpensive Harbor Breeze solar flood light from Lowe's into a weather-resistant Meshcore / Meshtastic node or repeater.

The bracket features a dedicated mount for either a Type N or SMA antenna bulkhead connector, allowing you to seamlessly route your antenna wire straight down into the main enclosure through the existing holes.

🛠 Mounting Options Included

  • Wall Mount Version: Flat backing with screw holes for securing to walls, fences, or flat fascia boards. Tip: Mount this as high up on the fascia or gable as possible so your antenna completely clears the roofline for maximum line-of-sight coverage.

  • Pole Mount Version: Designed with slots to accommodate zip ties or hose clamps for mounting to a pipe, mast, or tree branch. It also features a horizontal cutout channel so you can easily mount it to a horizontal rail, balcony bar, or fence pipe.

  • Ground Stake Version: Slips directly onto the original plastic ground stake that comes with the Lowe's solar light. Perfect for fast field deployment, temporary portable setups, or placing a node on remote open ground without needing a structure to bolt onto.

  • Window Mount Version: Built with slots for standard suction cups. This is an excellent alternative for renters or apartment dwellers who cannot mount anything outside, allowing the node to sit safely indoors on a sunny window to capture light and a clean line of sight. • Magnetic Mount Version: Features dual recessed slots designed to hold two 30lb rubberized magnets for drill-free mounting to metal roofs, sheds, flashings, or steel railings. Includes a custom painter's pole deployment hook file—simply attach the hook to an extension pole to lift and snap the magnetic mount high up onto elevated steel surfaces without needing a ladder! • Gutter Mount Version: Features a heavy-duty 3D-printed screw clamp with a large knurled knob that tightens securely onto standard residential roof gutters. Perfect for elevated home deployment without drilling into walls or fascias.

🔌 Internal Hardware Mounting

  • Heltec T114 & T096 Mounting Sleds: This file set includes custom internal sleds designed for the Heltec T114 or Heltec T096. These allow you to secure your board directly above the solar panel's original power switch.

🧰 Recommended Hardware & Components

Requirements & Notes

  • Pigtail Cable: Your antenna pigtail wire should be 4–6 inches long to ensure enough slack for a clean connection. Available at: As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

  • Build Video & Channel: Check out the step-by-step build video on my YouTube channel where I'm documenting my mesh networking journey: https://www.youtube.com/@HacnCrap

  • ⚠ Installation Caution: When mounting the bracket, do not overtighten the screws or pipe clamps. Hand-tighten screws until snug and ease up on the clamp torque; applying too much pressure will easily crack or stress-fracture the 3D-printed plastic.

Print Settings & Suggestions

Because this bracket is designed for outdoor deployment, standard PLA will not hold up to UV exposure and ambient heat.

  • Material: PETG at a minimum (ASA is highly recommended for long-term UV resistance and durability).

  • Wall Count: 4 to 5 perimeters/walls to ensure structural strength for the antenna mount and magnet retention.

  • Infill: 20%–25% (Gyroid recommended for mechanical strength).

  • Supports: Organic supports (Tree supports) are required—set them to Build Plate Only to keep the cleanup simple and preserve the finish.

Happy meshn'!
