I wanted to put together a commander deck that I could print out but not using paper proxies. On my 3D printer. What better way to make an artifact deck actually interesting? I'm sorry that its in the most hated color pairing in Magic but between robots and duplicating artifacts, it fits too well and it was the only way I could make Azorius not suck. Besides, I loved Aetherdrift and wanted to give it more love.
You can print out all of the cards on any 3D printer that responds to color change or pause commands. I printed everything on my stock MK3S+ and just used M600 to induce a color change after printing the background.
Check out the full deck list here. This took me quite a while to make all the models and print them out, so I am likely not going to be making many changes to the deck list if any. It is a bracket 2 deck as I tried to avoid cards that were super wordy and tried to use as many basic lands as possible. I doubt I'll be doing any other decks or cards like this but we'll see if the fixation strikes again.
There is also a deck box included that fits the commander, the 99 cards and several copies of the tokens. If your printer isn't the best at tight tolerances, then you'll probably want to scale the box and lid up by at most 5% without also scaling the commander. For the hinge of the box, just slide a piece of 1.75mm filament through the holes and glue the ends in place.
It is quite difficult to shuffle all the cards at once since riffling doesn't really work. I'm working on a potential solution to this but haven't quite pinned it down yet.
