Contest entry for the OpenSauce and Prusa 3D Printed Spinning Battle Top contests.
This spinning battle top uses design language from horizontal spinner Battlebots and their toughest wedged opponents. In addition, it maximizes kinetic energy per unit volume to prolong spin endurance and TOTAL OPPONENT ANNIHILATION!!!!
Oh yeah, and a DUAL rip cord launcher for insane launch power!!!

Features:
DUAL Rip cord launcher - More than DOUBLES the power and stability of your launch. Both rip cords are under the 273mm length limit and hence legal in a match.
Monolithic mass distribution - focusing all material in outer circumference while reducing weight in the center to improve balance and endurance. All in one piece.
Tri-Wedge Lifters - Designed to "snag" or dramatically throw opponents out of the field.
Rounded spin point - to maximize lateral movent in a battle field.
Fully compatible with stlDenise's 3D Printed Spinning Battle Top technology for OpenSauce.
Build instructions:
Print with at least 5 perimeters, no support
Screw in the spin point to the main body.
Load your battle top.
Insert the rip cords into opposing holes of the launcher simultaneously.
RIP IT!
The tiny dual-launcher bit should stay with the top. But may also become fodder for both tops in battle.
Science:
Based on actual research for flywheel energy storage systems (source: N. Z. Nkomo, 2023). As well as first hand experience with spinning tops in the 90s-00s.

This 3D Printed Spinning Battle Top was designed in careful adherence of the rules for the Printables and OpenSauce contests (as of June 12 2026) as defined here:
Tops must be FULLY 3D PRINTED using PLASTIC (no metal)
Launch Cord may be no longer than 273mm end to end.
Blade must be 25 mm from ground
Blade must be no larger than 91 mm in diameter
Rules for the OpenSauce contest state rip cords must be 273mm end to end. They do not limit the amount of rip cords. ;)
