When testing my A4T toolheads on the stealthchanger modular docks I noticed they had a tendency to pivot back. I quickly found the common solution is to use this dock replacement which only adapts the short version and requires a reprint. So I took the idea of using M3.5 grub-screws as top attachment point and designed some inserts that will avoid reprinting any dock parts

BOM

  • 2 M3.5x8 ferrous grub-screws for each toolhead, to be screwed in the top holes where the allen key usually inserts

  • 2 M3x45 ferrous screws if not already using them at the bottom

  • 2 6x3mm magnets, no super strength needed, as bottom anchor points

  • either 2 N45-N52 magnets OR 4 (a pair of 2 stacked magnets) 6x3mmm magnets, as top anchor points. I found my random quality aliexpress magnets worked just fine when stacked

  • 4 (or 6 but not necessary) M3x8 bolts to attach the insert to the dock using the existing holes

ASSEMBLY

  • simply superglue the magnets in their respective holes, taking care to use the proper insert version as there's a single and dual magnet version available

  • attach the left and right inserts to the dock using the M3x8 bolts

  • enjoy!

Your toolhead should look like this (pic taken from the linked project)
