SOUL CATCHER — High‑Performance 3D‑Printed Spinning Top

Meet the Soul Catcher, my take on the classic spinning top — aggressive, durable, and hungry for action. This top has soul, attitude, and the stamina to out‑spin anything in its path.

Fully 3D printed, impact‑ready, and capable of spinning for minutes, the Soul Catcher is built for battles. If you want to win, you won’t need anything else.

Tools Required

• Pliers

• File or sanding paper

• Super glue (optional but recommended)

• Hand drill

• 1.8 mm drill bit

Assembly Instructions

Step 1 — Insert the INNER BALLAST

Place the INNER BALLAST into the DEFUSER. You may need to lightly file or sand the DEFUSER for a perfect fit.

Step 2 — Install the TIP

Apply a small amount of super glue to the TIP shaft. Insert it into the hole in the DEFUSER.

Step 3 — Attach the SOUL

Take the SOUL, whisper your dreams and goals into it (optional but encouraged), then glue it onto the INNER BALLAST. Note: You can replace the printed SOUL with a 6001 RS bearing, but this will disqualify the top from in‑person battles.

Step 4 — Mount the BLADE

Apply super glue to the BLADE recess. Align the holes on the INNER BALLAST with the BLADE and press them together firmly. This is a tight press‑fit and may require some force.

Step 5 — Install the Small Plugs

Insert the 4 small plugs into the TOP’s alignment holes. Before pressing the TOP onto the BLADE, add a bit of super glue for extra strength. If the plugs don’t sit perfectly flush, that’s okay.

Step 6 — Drill the Plug Holes

Use the 1.8 mm drill bit to slightly widen the plug holes so filament can slide in easily. Insert filament pieces to expand the plugs and lock everything securely.

Step 7 — Trim the Filament

Once the filament is seated, file the exposed ends flush.

Step 8 — Install the MAIN PLUG

Insert the MAIN PLUG into the top hole. Drill it with the 1.8 mm bit, insert filament, and file it flush.

Step 9 — Assemble the Launcher

Glue the LAUNCHER TOP onto the LAUNCHER BOTTOM. Insert the remaining SMALL PLUGS and repeat Steps 6 and 7.

And That’s It!

Your SOUL CATCHER spinning top is complete and ready for battle.

Designer Notes

When you insert the ripcord into the launcher, the top may feel loose or even fall out on its own. This is intentional — reduced friction means a faster, cleaner launch.

To keep the top seated before launch, pull the ripcord at a slight angle to “pinch” the top in place.
