As a co-creator of the HookMate, I obviously love the product as it is, but something kept nagging at me that I'd like more on-board storage for resting devices or bowls as I reload them.  I designed this little captive sidecar that utilizes the HookMate's base geometry to create a stable platform on which to store devices, bowls or tools.  For anchoring, it repurposes the stir tool's storage hole and restows it in the rear of the sidecar.  This may be entirely superfluous or a welcome addition, it depends on your flavour!

I digress.  The design is free to use and share with attribution, but remixes and commercial use are respectfully denied.   Enjoy!

Print Settings:

  • Rotate 90 degrees and print on the flat face with the post facing upward.

  • 15% infill is plenty, but your call.  I typically use the cubic pattern.

  • 0.15mm layer height for the best hole sizing tolerances.

  • Support within the larger holes is a good idea.  I used the "snug" setting in Prusa slicer and the supports popped out fairly cleanly.

  • I printed in PETG, but PLA should work fine.

  • If the stir tool hole is a bit tight at first, run a razor edge along the circumference and trim away a very small amount of material until the tool pops in snugly.  It's better to be snug than loose.

I invite all of my HookMate brethren to join me for shenanigans over on my YouTube channel:
