These retractable tie down anchors for F150 pickup truck bed rails seem really nice. Stainless steel rods and springs, aluminum for the rest, seems great. They claim universal fit, but we all know how that goes...

If I installed these without the shim there would be a gap around the anchor. This gap allows the anchor to shift and work its way under the bed liner plastic. If that plastic is not part of the stack-up the anchor clamp does not clamp tight enough and the anchor wobbles. I was left uneasy with the retention method as provided by the manufacturer.
This fitted shim takes out the gaps and alignment issues. It allows the clamping force from the anchor screws to clamp the bed rail metal FOR SURE. I printed in 0.20mm layers with a "strength" profile (6 walls) in PETG-CF, will follow up with any issues.
I am fitting these to a 2007 F150 with a crew cab and 6' short bed. The front bed rail holes seemed off centered with the bed liner, but the shims center things up.
