I finally found a need myself for a better solution to the Stark Varg's drain plug and the Torx bit it uses by default. Long story short, these drain plugs are soft aluminum, and strip out easily even when using the correctly-sized Torx bit. This replaces the need for the Torx bit, and the shortcomings of the soft aluminum.
My design uses 6x M3x20 SHCS machine screws (2 in each "finger") to reinforce the plastic across layer lines, adding to the strength of the overall part. The STL file is already oriented correctly - print it as it sits!
Required parts -
M3x20mm 304 Stainless SHCS Bolts - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078CXM81F
Print material and settings -
Material: ABS - I used CF-ABS (specifically Siraya Tech Fibreheart ABS-CF Core - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DGQDPVVD)
Infill: 100%
Layer Height: 0.2mm
NO SUPPORTS!
Installing M3x20mm SHCS Bolts -
Use a drill or automatic screwdriver of some sort to make this process easier - install each of the 6x M3x20mm SHCS bolts in a continuous and smooth motion (don't stop/start as it adds stress to the plastic between layers).
The holes in the front are there so that excess plastic can be pushed out rather than trapped. None of the M3x20mm SHCS bolts should protrude from the printed part!
Once all 6 screws are installed, go use it!
