I found that I often accidentally pressed the button of the pica dry, making the pencil extend (and break). To prevent that I printed this tube that fits over it.
Steps to install:
Remove the cap first
Press fit the protector in place.
This can be tight, I tend to heat up the protector to fit it but you can also scale it up or down to get the best fit depending on your printer etc.
Re-install the cap
