The trident is great, but as with most silly shell pistols, it doesn't holster well while primed. This remix works in a skewer style pull back + push in prime that reduces the primed footprint of the blaster.

Special printing:

  • The air pass-through needs to be in TPU. I printed in ~7walls ~20% infill.

Extra hardware:

  • 5 4-40 or similar screws

  • 1 5/16" -0.215" or similar aluminum  tube, ~200 mm long

  • 1 10-32 threaded rod, ~250 mm long

  • 2 (optionally 3) 10-32 hex nuts

  • 1 Dash-117 or similar o-ring (Same size as plunger o-ring.)

  • 1 Dash-011 or similar o-ring. (Wraps around the aluminum tube snugly.)

I like to use 2 nuts at the TPU pad end of the threaded rod in a jam configuration, but your mileage may vary.

Assembly:

  • Thread a nut (or two, if jamming) a little bit onto one end of the threaded rod. Slide the TPU print down the rod so that the nut is inset to the print. This end will henceforth be the TPU side.

  • Put the spare -117 o ring around the TPU part. This is not for sealing, but for smooth pullback.

  • Attach  the -204 o ring (from the existing trident hardware) to front face of plunger, same as the base trident instructions. Then, slide the plunger head all the way down to the TPU end, with the -204 touching the TPU.

  • Slide the aluminum extrusion over the threaded rod, through the plunger head and touching the back of the TPU.

  • Slide the -011 o ring all the way down the aluminum extrusion, nestling in the cutout in the plunger head.

  • Slide the plunger stem down the extrusion, capturing the -011 o ring. Screw it in place with 3 4-40screws.

  • Proceed with the trident assembly more or less as normal. This will replace the plunger assembly in the base instructions, only needing to be capped with the last nut, and to screw the front and back of the t-pull together.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, or consult the step file. This remix will work with my shell pusher and fidlock remixes. I found it helpful to have a very taut trigger cord for consistent catching.
