Mission 1 Diopter Adaptor Set

I'd like to share my solution to the Mission 1's close focusing problem. I wanted something fast and easy to use that also worked with GoPro's ND filter set. Instead of making one adaptor and swapping the filters onto it, I designed a slim adaptor for each filter because I only intend to use this set of diopters with the M1 (they are very affordable). This allows them to be swapped quickly and I could print the focus range for each diopter. I am using the Vivitar 58mm diopter set. Here are the key advantages to this design:

• Filters Thread onto the Printed Adaptors - making everything very slim

• Friction Fit to the GoPro Lens - fast to swap

• Printed Focus Range - in both American (inches) and Centimeters (whatever that is...)

• No Vignetting (even in SuperView) - 58mm filter fully covers the M1 lens

• Works with GoPro NDs - something the Macro Mod can't do

• Works with the M1 grip case

• Set Fits in Vivitar Pouch - easy to store every diopter with it's adaptor

• Technically Waterproof - Although water could get trapped in-between the diopter and lens

Here are the focus ranges printed on each filter adaptor (I tested all of these with a focus chart; optimal focus will be in the middle of each range):

• +1 - 15"-21" / 38-53 cm - Not sure I will use this one much

• +2 - 9"-15" / 22-38 cm - Perfect for Vlogging, crisp face and some background separation

• +4 - 5"-9" / 12-22 cm - Wide Macro, starting to get some distortion in the corners

• +10 - 3"-5" / 8-12 cm - Close Macro (use W lens mode), lots of edge distortion

• I would recommend using PETG or PLA, ABS shrinks too much to nail the friction fit onto the GoPro lens.
