This is an aftermarket, 3D-printable replacement hinge designed to fit the Kermi Vario 2000 shower folding door/bathtub screen series.
If your original metal hinges have cracked over time, this model restores the swinging function of your shower panel without it sagging.
Material: PETG, ABS, or ASA is highly recommended for this part.
Regular PLA will degrade quickly under the constant humidity and warm water of a shower environment.
Infill: Do NOT use infill. Increase the wall count so that the piece is completely filled with wall loops.
This lays the layer lines into its strongest orientation.
Additional Hardware:
- 8mm Rod. I used an 8mm PTFE rod cut to ~7cm in length
- Glue to connect the 3D print to the PTFE rod
The hole for the PFTE rod is 5 mm in diameter. You have to shave down the PTFE rod to fit into there. I used a sharp knife. Please be careful when cutting with force!
You need to remove any broken hardware from the separated doors and keep the screw holding the broken holder in.
You will have to cut a bit from the silicone membrane so that this part fits.
