Vortex Leech is a modular battle-top built around rotational energy control instead of brute force impact.

Its mirrored dual-tooth blade system was designed to adapt to the opponent’s spin direction, allowing effective energy transfer regardless of rotation orientation. This enables repeated controlled contact, gradually reducing the opponent’s speed while preserving its own momentum.

The design features a dual-speed output system:

• Low-Speed Mode – optimized for controlled energy absorption, stability, and prolonged endurance.
• High-Speed Mode – optimized for stronger contact pressure, faster engagement, and aggressive energy transfer.

The high moment of inertia is achieved by concentrating mass in the outer ring, while the lightweight upper cone lowers the center of gravity for increased stability and reduced wobble.

The system includes interchangeable blade concepts:

• Drain Blade – optimized for rotational energy absorption
• Impact Blade – designed for stronger offensive hits
• Destabilizer Blade – smooth control bumps that gradually induce imbalance

Two starter slots improve launch flexibility and allow better directional setup.

The system is designed for modular tuning and print optimization. Interchangeable tips allow different friction and movement behaviors, while the connector can be adjusted to experiment with height and balance.

For optimal performance, the outer ring should be printed with very high infill—or even 100% infill—to maximize mass concentration and rotational inertia. In contrast, the lightweight connector requires only a low infill percentage, reducing material usage and print time without compromising its function. The blade is intentionally optimized with a dense outer ring and a lighter inner core, concentrating mass where it has the greatest effect.

The entire model was designed for easy printing, modular experimentation, and open-source improvements.
