I saw a lot of wands used for credit cards out there but I couldn't find one that was an American flag. I thought this would be an amazing addition to 4th of July events, but I also believe it can be used at any time.
I made the design to print flat on the plate to help reduce filament waste on my P1S, which is why I created the PETG card to insert in the model during the print process.
Print the spacer flag with PETG (if you are using PLA for the Flag) first this will be used as a removable support for the credit card slot in the flag print. once printed set aside.
When setting up the print the flag print
set a pause at layer 32,
Once it reaches this pause you can place the PETG card you just printed centered in the credit card slot. (I found for easier removal running your fingers over the surface of the PETG card to contaminate the surface and it helps when it come to removal).
Once centered in the credit card slot (keep in mind this is meant to have an overhang so you can pull out the PETG card once printed), resume print.
Once print is fully completed and ready to come off the plate I find it easiest to use needle nose pliers to pull out the PETG card. (If it is difficult to remove I found a thin pottery knife works well to separate).
I found printing the handles vertically works the best for a smooth round handle. The upper handle clicks into the flag, while the lower handle fits firmly around the upper handle. If you want you can glue the upper handle to the lower handle, but it should be a tight enough fit that you don't need the glue.
If you print the flag vertically you will not need the card it will just take more time and filament due to filament changes.
