Core One L Side Doors

I made a set of doors to enclose the side panels of the Core One L to help with air leaks and keep a clean look. 

The half pin barrel hinges will be TIGHT. Since I printed them in PETG-GF I tuned the fitment by sanding the pins until it was a snug but fluid movement with 120grit. If you use PLA I would use 220 grit, its always easier to remove more, you can't add back. 

Installation of the hinges will be easiest if you remove the side panels so you can use tape to hold the nuts in place. I used double sided tape and just poked a hold with a razor blade to make an opening for the screws. 

You will need to cut the plexiglass panels down to 14.75" square.

All of my screws I used were ultra low M3 in 6 and 8mm lengths. The magnets used were all 10x3mm N52 Neodymium magnets. I used double sided tape to hold the door hinges and door handles in place when drilling. 

The easiest way to get a template on where to drill for the handles, I just cut the handles so only the base would print and used the double sided tape to hold it all until all the holes were drilled. 

Since the side panels are aluminum, I got some 1/8" thick, 3/8" wide (~10mm), and 14" long, and secured them via double sided tape on the inside of the printer that lines up with the upper door frames magnets. The bars on just the upper portion of the panels are more than sufficient to hold the doors closed. However, I felt it was still not enough pull so I added the bars and magnets to the bottom under the floor of the printer as well.
