Cat toes can sometimes get stuck on the radiators slots when climbing them or jumping from them, which can seriously hurt their paw and even provoke the loss of a toe. I made this piece that prevents that from happening.
Others I've seen are either too big or for other kind of radiators. Since you will have to print a lot of them to cover an entire house, and taking that into account, I made this one are with two things in mind:
- It prints fast without wasting a lot of material. Each piece takes about 1g off ffilament (ASA) and prints in three-ish minutes.
- It stays put: The walls of the piece are angled at 89 degrees inward instead of 90, so it presses itself in place.
I've included the original Free Cad file so you can adapt it to your radiator measurements easily.
Important: Print at least in ABS or ASA. PETG will most likely not be enough as some radiators operate at 60-85 °C surface temperature.
