A case for the BC250 board turned living room PC (more info at https://elektricm.github.io/amd-bc250-docs/)

There were not many options using SFX PSUs and I wanted something that prioritized airflow while keeping the looks nice for the living room.

Design files and assembly reference: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/73c51cee73cd801bfe48a8ca/w/518856edab0584c5d6ccb2cb/e/47f52deb0f8df19d04fa91e4?renderMode=0&uiState=6a4b7fc5dc35721b04a789f9

Fan covers remixed from:

You will need:

  • An SFX power supply

  • M3xL5xOD4.5 brass inserts x60

  • M3x8 countersunk screws x60

  • An ESP32 C3 for the switch: https://github.com/Thunkar/bc250-esp32-switch

  • A standard keyboard MX switch

  • Some male pin cables

  • Artic P12 Pro 120mm fans x3

  • 6x2mm round magnets x8

All parts can be printed without supports. PETG is recommended for the 3 brackets+fanShroud parts, rest can be PLA.

Assembly

It is recommended to take a look at the onshape link, since placement of parts is better shown in the 3D model. The preferred order of assembly is:

  1. Add the inserts first to every 4.5mm hole.

  2. Screw the front fan to fanCover in PUSH configuration. Join fanCover and fanShroud. It should be a snug fit, but a dab of glue is ok to use.

  3. Insert frontHolder form the front of the board (opposite side of the connection ports). Looking at the case from the front, the board should sit on the right side of the case.

  4. Place the fanShroud with the cover in its final position. It can be fixed with Kapton tape for a better seal.

  5. Slide the frontHolder over the fanCover, fixing it in place.

  6. Slide middleHolder and backHolder from the back of the board. This is the "skeleton" of the case.

  7. Add the bottom horizontal panels. A plain horizontalPlate towards the front, and horizontalPlateChamberBottom towards the back.

  8. Screw the fans on the fanSides and add them to the case (front left in PUSH configuration, back right on PULL configuration)

  9. Add the blank sides to the back left and right front of the case.

  10. Add the frontGrill and backBracket.

  11. Add the frontSides.

  12. Finally, assemble the switch and add switchPlate and horizontalChamberTopPlate.
