Lazy solution with minimal assembly work: Combine a cheap chinese 18V Makita Soldering Station attachment with this bottom part and get an Einhell / Ozito one :)

Bonus: Integrated soldering iron holder

  • Use the 'bridge counterbore holes = sacrificial layer' in Orca slicer for the holes in the corners

  • No supports needed

  • Use outer brim

  • I used both PETG and ABS, both work fine.

Soldering station used:

I used the Makita variant, as it was a few cents cheaper than the Dewalt/Milwaukee/Bosch ones. I think their top parts should all be identical (apart from the color) and would be thankful for a quick comment if someone has tried the Milwaukee one with the matching red color for Einhell :).

You also need:

  • 2 male crimp spade connectors 6.3 mm (e.g. '100pcs 50pairs 6.3mm 16 14AWG Female Male Electrical Wiring Connector Insulated Crimp Terminal Spade Blue')

  • hot glue

  • wire

  • crimp tool, vice, or soldering iron to fix the wires to the connector

Alternatively, you can cut the tabs from sheet metal (6.3 mm wide), solder the wires to them and glue them in place with hot glue. Spade connectors are just a convenient ready made solution where available.

Thanks to Hans for the excellent original model.

v2.2: Moved the solder iron holder tab to the back, so it doesn't interfere with the knob.
