Accepts a standard domestic machine needle so that various needle types can be used, and secures the needle via a M3 screw. Meant for repairs using lockstitch technique.
Screw: just screw it directly into the plastic, no insert required. I didn't tap the hole so that the screw will stay tight. Takes a bit of elbow grease the first time :)
