Steam Machine Faceplate with KillSwitch Universal Mount
Official Valve Inkterface faceplates, enhanced with dbrand KillSwitch compatibility and full customization options.
This remix builds directly on Valve’s official Inkterface files from GitLab. I trimmed the middle plate pieces to maintain full compatibility with Valve’s recommended glueless stepped magnets while cleaning up the design.
The faceplate uses the standard four magnetic corner mounts (print 4x) that sit securely against the back plate — the same proven method Valve intended. (I tested other round magnets and found them too weak for reliable Steam Machine use.)
Included Files
Blank filled front plate + filled back plane — perfect for your own customizations (LED holes, engravings, logos, vents, etc.).
Note: the back plane does have a specific orientation with how valve designed it, the circle posts are the bottom and the 'tear drops' are the top so pay attention when assemblingTwo KillSwitch Universal Mount versions:
Off-center mount featuring the classic Valve logo + Heavy from Team Fortress 2 holding a balloon (recreating the faceplate shown at the original Steam Machine announcement). Includes both STL and pre-colored .3MF (black on red).
Centered blank mount — ideal for your own custom designs.

Printing Tips
Best printed face down just like the inkterface
Standard PLA or PETG recommended.
Use Valve’s stepped magnets for the strongest hold.
This design opens up tons of customization possibilities while staying true to the original Steam Machine aesthetic and adding modern KillSwitch mounting functionality.
