This Bocce Measuring Cup lets you quickly and accurately determine the winning ball in a game of bocce. Here's how it works. Place the Bocce Measuring Cup on the pallino. While holding the cup portion down, rotate the holder lid to point to the bocce ball in question. If using a digital measuring tool, hit the measure button on the tool (not included). If using analog tape measure, pull out the tape to reach the closet face of the ball. No more questionable calls about which ball is closer to the pallino!
Here's how it is modeled and designed. The Bocce Measuring Cup can accomodate the typically 3 sizes of pallinos (see below). The Bocce Measuring Cup supports the use of analog measuring tape, digital laser and dual digital/analog by using different width holders. Three common sizes are included in the model and STLs. They can be easily changed in Bambu Studio or CAD program of choice. The Bocce Measuring Cup uses a printed bearing which snaps to the cup and the lid snaps to the bearing. No adhesive is necessary for these 3 parts and it freely rotates. The tape holder is glued t the lid via Super Glue or similar. This ensures a secure connection. I printed the Bocce Measuring Cup in PLA, PLA+, and PETG. I have not seen any difference in wear over time.
The Bocce Measuring cup supports the three most common sizes of pallinos. The cup itself has a minimized profile.
2 3/8" pallino, 2 1/4" pallino and 2" pallino.
Just a note, I was successful in printing the cup at a -45 degree angle to reduce the supports and the print time. Something to try. I also have printed in PLA, PLA+, PETG, PETG Rapid on both the Bambu X1C and the Elegoo CC.
