Folding Magnetic Chessboard with Integrated Storage
This folding magnetic chessboard is a compact and portable chess set designed for convenient travel and storage. The board features an integrated compartment for storing chess pieces and a magnetic locking mechanism that keeps the board securely closed when not in use.
The model is designed as a multi-part assembly consisting of three board sections and separate insert pieces. To complete the chessboard:
Print two copies of each board component.
Assemble and glue the board sections together according to the model layout.
Install 3 mm magnets in the designated magnet pockets to create a secure magnetic closure.
Print 32 black square inserts and 32 white square inserts, then glue them onto the board surface to form the complete checkerboard pattern.
The removable inserts provide a clean two-color finish and allow easy customization using different filament colors.
The interior of the folded board contains dedicated storage compartments for chess pieces, helping keep the set organized and protected during transport. When folded, the magnetic lock prevents accidental opening and keeps all stored pieces securely contained.
Note: Chess pieces are not included with this model. Compatible chess pieces must be downloaded separately from other creators or sourced from your preferred chess piece collection.
