BDSM Ankle cuff-Mag

A locking bondage cuff, sized and shaped for ankles. The cuff is held closed by a sliding face plate, that locks in place. You will need to supply some rare Earth magnets, 8 x 3 mm, to make the key for unlocking. (Unless you never plan to remove them, that is) These magnets can be purchased easily online.

The cuff is 85 x 70 mm, 40 mm tall.

I have had good luck printing on my Snapmaker U1, with a smooth BIQU build plate, using hair spray to assist adhesion. I print in PETG with PLA supports.

Be careful when removing the supports around the locking tab. It is easy to break it if you are not careful. The tab should move easily back and forth once all the support material is cleared away.

You may have to do some sanding/filing to smooth the parts where the faceplate slides against the tabs on the cuff. 3D printing produces tiny ridges that may make sliding difficult. I use a 1 1/2" finishing nail for the hinge. The holes for the hinge are snug; you may have to widen them a bit with a pin vise.

When printing the face plate, disable supports for the upper half of the ring attachment loop. Pause the print half way through, and drop a metal ring onto the partially printed loop, then resume printing.

For the locking mechanism, you will need a few 8x3 mm rare Earth magnets. Put one magnet in the pocket on the locking tab. Put 1 or 2 in the pocket in the key. Make sure they are oriented so they repel each other when brought close together. The magnets should fit fairly snug in their pockets. If they are loose, use a drop of superglue to hold them in place. Be careful that the magnet doesn't fall out of the locking tab before you close it, or you won't be able to open it!

Test the key by sliding the face plate over the locking tab on the R piece, without the Left piece in place. If it doesn't release, you can reach the tab from the side and pull it down to remove the face plate. File the edge of the tab a bit, and try it again. Once you are sure that the key releases reliably, you are ready to go!
