Give your wall the ultimate thrash metal upgrade! This model is an official flat-profile update to my original Metallica logo design, keeping it perfectly in step with the ongoing Slave To The Metal 90s Drawing Series/Collection.
By popular demand! While the original version featured end letters that angled back at 20 degrees, this version has been redesigned to lay completely flat against the wall. To accommodate the new flat profile, the total thickness has been streamlined to a clean, even 0.5” depth.
To give you the most flexibility depending on your setup, I have included two ways to print it:
Solid One-Piece Version: The entire massive logo as a single model. Note: You will need to scale this version down in your slicer if you are printing on smaller or standard-sized beds.
Three-Piece Version: Just like the original drop, this splits the logo into the iconic end letters ("M" and "A") and the middle section so you can print it at full size on standard machines.
Both versions feature integrated keyhole slots on the back for completely flush, stable wall mounting using small screws or nails.
Two-Tone Filament Swap Tip:
To get that classic silver-on-black or high-contrast face look shown in the renders:
Slice the model flat on its face (or flat on its back, depending on your preferred top-surface texture).
Program a filament change or pause in your slicer after the first few face layers finish printing.
Swap colors to let the primary background depth finish out in a contrasting shade!
