Step on up! This model is another addition to my Slave To The Metal 90s Drawing Series/Collection, where I am transforming the classic band logos from my original hand-drawn concept art into clean, printable display pieces.
This plaque brings the sharp, blocky, overlapping geometry of the legendary RATT typography into 3D space. Because the letters naturally interlock and overlap perfectly to create a unified design, this model is offered strictly as a No-Base version. A backing plate just wouldn't do justice to this clean silhouette!
Despite having no full background plate, the model is fully optimized for display. It features (2) integrated keyhole slots engineered directly into the back of the lettering, allowing you to mount the standalone text completely flush against your wall.
The main text width is set to a crisp 8.0”, keeping it fully compatible as a single-piece print for standard or smaller printer beds without needing to scale down the details.
Multi-Color Filament Swapping Tip:
To achieve the classic high-contrast look shown in the digital render (Dark border with a vibrant red face inset):
Slice the model flat on its back.
Program a pause or filament change in your slicer right at the layer height where the raised letter borders transition into the inner face inset.
Swap from your base outline color (like black or gunmetal gray) to your bold highlight color (like a bright red) to finish out the face layers!

Mounting: Features (2) built-in key-hole slots on the back of the lettering for clean, flush wall hanging with #3 screws or nails.
Print Settings
Material: PLA
Layer Height: 0.12mm to 0.20mm (Lower layer heights will make the slight geometric angles and flat top faces look incredibly smooth).
Infill: 10% or higher. (Gyroid or Grid patterns work beautifully for stability).
Supports: None required when printed flat on the bed.
