My 97 NA Miata did not have this panel at all, I assume it was removed by some previous owner and it was lost, so I wanted to make one. There's a lot of iteration in this design, and it fits pretty well. I did not have the original, so to my eye it looks good, but things can always be improved. I printed it in PCTG with perlin fuzzy skin on the outside face so that it matches (somewhat) the interior texture. PCTG was also too shiny, so I sprayed it in plasti-dip to dull it.
I didn't follow the stock mounting method of clips, either, I used some m5x16 SEMS screws to mount it. You'll need 4 of them. Get black ones or paint them, and you'll probably not notice them. The holes do have to be pre-drilled on the upper locations though closer to the steering wheel. I may make a clip version in the future.
It needs to be printed as shown, with painted on supports. It's possible it could be printed standing on the thin edge, but you'd need a very large brim. breakaway supports would of course be best.
