10-inch Rack 1U Blank Filler Panel — 6/4/2 Hole, Standard & Reinforced Variants

A blank 1U filler panel for 10-inch (mini/half) racks — covers unused rack units for a clean front and controlled airflow.

Mini racks are everywhere in homelabs now, but blank panels rarely come with the rack, and buying steel ones for a 10" rack is disproportionately expensive. This set covers the common mounting patterns and fit tolerances, so one of the 12 files should drop straight into your rack.

Features

  • Slotted mounting holes for alignment tolerance

  • Stiffening frame (reinforced versions) is 217 mm wide — sits well inside the 222.25 mm rack opening, with margin for racks that don't follow the spec exactly

  • Quick to print, no supports needed

Variants

Options

Mounting holes

6 — all slots, default; 4 — corners only, cleaner look; 2 — central slot per ear, minimal mount

Reinforcement

Standard — 3 mm flat; Reinforced — 3 mm panel with a 3 mm stiffening frame on the inner side, minimizes warping

Fit

Standard — 254.0 × 44.45 mm (exact 10"/1U); Loose — 253.5 × 43.95 mm for racks with tight openings

Example: 10in_1U_blank_4holes_reinforced_loose.stl = 4 corner holes, stiffening frame, loose fit.

Printing

  • Material: use your judgement — PLA is fine for a rack with no heat, PETG at minimum next to anything warm, and ABS/ASA if the neighboring gear runs hot

  • Layer height: 0.2 mm

  • Infill: anything — the panel isn't load-bearing

  • Supports: none — print flat on the front face (the filleted face on non-reinforced versions)

Hardware needed

  • Rack screws, quantity to taste — 2 is enough (1 can work, but expect it to sit slightly drunk); designed for standard M6 rack screws, but feel free to raid the screw drawer — just remember the slots are 6.5 mm

Fills the gaps in your 10" rack — pick the hole count and fit that matches, print, done.
