I’ve been working on a custom bit case because none of the existing options quite did what I wanted. The full case isn't ready to post yet, but I thought the bit holder mechanism itself could be useful to other makers..
The bit holder has flexible side tabs hold bits snugly in place, even when flipped upside down, while still allowing easy one-handed removal.
I've included the STEP file, as well as STL files for configurations holding 1 to 10 bits.
I'd recommend printing it in PETG because of flexibility, but PLA or other standard materials should probably work fine too. Its designed to print flat without any supports and 0.2mm layer height.
