Decathlon cargo bike backrest

Installation

The backrest should neatly click into place over the lower and upper rear bars.
Given that the rear frame seems to be industrially welded, I expect the model to fit on all the same generation bikes as mine.

Security

Please ensure the part fits perfectly and check for wear signs before use.

Recommendations

I recommend printing the cheap size test to ensure the model will fit your bike as the full model represents 250+ grams of material.

Printing

I've printed my model with 3 perimeters, 15% infill, 0.45mm width and 0.24mm layer height. Given you aim for strength, I would recommend 3 perimeters as a minimum for a standard 0.4mm nozzle.

Material

I've printed my model with Bambulab PLA-CF (carbon fibers). I suppose it could be better with PET-G or another material (feedback welcome). I will see in the following weeks how it fares against prolonged direct sunlight and heat, I might update the material recommendations then.

Bed Adhesion

I've printed the model on its side without brim or rafts on my P2S (see final picture). As usual, an optimal bed leveling and excellent adhesion is required. If you know having adhesion issues, I recommend adding a brim to avoid late print issues.
