V1 made the spool hard to remove, and the top is too wide. V3 addressed these issues. I have removed the previous file and uploaded the latest version.
A smoother-rolling upgrade for the Creality Space Pi and Space Pi PLUS, designed to reduce spool drag and make filament feeding cleaner, especially when printing directly from the dryer box.
I made this remix because my filament spool was not rolling as freely as I wanted. The remix I based this on could not fit a spool with a smaller-diameter centre hole, and I always find it tedious to align the pulley with the holder. This remix resolved these issues.
Additional BOM:
608 Bearing x 2
Do not use PETG or PLA; PETG deformed at 65-70 °C.
Minimally print with ABS or ASA.
Print with 0.4mm width, 0.2 layer height.
4 walls and 5 top and bottom layers.
Infill minimal 10%
Special instructions for the shaft print:
1. Use top and bottom 60 layers to ensure 100% infill at the shaft bearing joint area
2. Use normal support and "2" Support wall loops for easy removal.
3. Print upright
4. Suggest test printing the bearing shaft (slice the bottom 7mm of the model) to check fit into the 608 bearings. Depending on your printer settings and filament, you may need to do X-Y contour compensation.
All parts were drawn from scratch as the original model author did not provide step files.
