I wanted a stock for the Ontos that leaned into and enhanced the sci-fi feel and added a bit of extra length, but without giving up the adjustability of the original.  This is what I ended up with.  I'm really average at working with 3D files so this is by no means perfect, but I couldn't find what I wanted out there already so I did my best to create it.

Because of my lack of 3D skill it doesn't fit quite as well as it could, but it's good enough for me and it looks sharp enough.  It calls for a total of 8 M3 heat-set threaded inserts (two for the grip insert, two for the cheek pad, two for the bumper and two for attaching the grip piece to the back panels of the blaster).  It also uses two 4x2mm rare earth magnets for extra security on the locking pin.

Notes:

  • Fixing the grip portion of the stock to the back of the blaster requires drilling two 4.5mm holes, one in each of the back-left and back-right panels.  Once you've set the grip in the correct location you could mark it with a little ink/paint on a long bolt, or just run a long narrow drill bit through for a pilot hole.  I thought about adding the holes into remixed back panel files, but decided against it because I'd already printed mine, and it felt like another level of complication when there are already a number of remixed back panels out there that are popular or necessary for other reasons.

  • If you don't want to use heat set inserts the grip, bumper and even cheek pad could just be glued into place.

  • The grip insert and bumper use 12mm M3 bolts, the cheek pad uses 8mm M3 bolts and securing the grip to the back panels uses 16mm M3 bolts.

  • I found it necessary to sand the pin down a little bit to get a nice fit.  I kept the model as-is though, since it's better this way to dial in how 'sticky' you want it, especially if you don't add the magnets.

  • Scale the height of the cheek pad spacers if you want it higher or lower.
