Sometimes you need to get that hose right up on your lathe work for sanding or small chips.
The flat base can have a larger shroud glued onto it to help catch more debris but I find the 100mm hose to be sufficient for my work.
A magswitch with magic arm + 1/4" nut will get the job done but the majority of the hose will still need support.
