Main Body

There are 3 different versions available of the root irrigator. One with a short neck, one with a medium neck and one with a long neck. All of those are freely scalable and will work with the accessories (float gauge & cover).

Of every version 5 pre scaled variants are provided: 50%, 80%, 100% (base file), 120% & 150%. Check the note for each stl-file for informations about the size and the inner volume. Please note that the diameter given does not include the screw.

The top has a knurled handle to provide grip, when screwing the root irrigator into soil.

Note that the irrigation holes are scaled with the part as well. The size of the irrigation holes for the base part (100%) is 2mm in diameter.

Cover

The optional top cover of the root irrigator has a conical design to fit by friction. This also makes the cover scalable in combination with the irrigator. Just make sure it is scaled by the same factor.

To remove the cover, insert an allen key through the hexagon grid and pull upwards.

To ensure that the conical design is working as intended, both the cover and the irrigator contain a notch. This notch is supposed accommodate the Z-seam. Please make sure the slicer is assigning the Z-seam at this place in the main body and the cover.

Float Gauge

The float gauge should show you the water-level, when pouring in water. Print in a bright colour to make sure the gauge can be seen.

Most plastics have a density higher than water (PLA: 1.24g/cm3, PETG: 1.27g/cm3). Make sure you don't use too much infill to print the gauge, so it will still float.

The float gauge can be printed without supports. Scale in accordance with the other parts.

Print Settings

Printed with the standart settings from Prusaslicer for 0.2mm layer height. No supports required.

Material used: PETG

Notes: Scaled down variants might require a brim to increase bed adhesion.

Important Notice

Contains small parts which might be swallowed by children or pets.
