I ve designed and printed those chain links a long time ago and I have been using them first as color samples and then experimented with trasparent filaments and different visible infills patterns and then started using them to make my own jewelry accessories. I do find them quite interesting so i thought to upload them and maybe someone finds them inspiring...

They easy and quick to print

Print instructions

  • 0,4 nozzle, 0,2mm layer height

  • Test them with different infill patterns if you use transparent fillaments. If not, 15% infill is enough

  • You can consider even to set top layers tp 0 to expose the infill. More ideas below

  • Set pauses to desired levels to create colorful loops.

  • print them full size or scale down z for thinner loops.

Some Ideas to try

  • top layers ZERO - infill 0%. use them as molds and fill them with filament scraps or..whatever. Glue them with instant glue or epoxy glue.

  • top layers ZERO - experiment with different types of infill. Archimedean chords, honeycomb but even a simple grid looks really cool!

  • color changes

in the files you will find the Basic loop and basic connector (40mm and 44mm), as well as the versions with a hole for earrings, pendants etc. You can customise the holes simply by using the basic loops and adding negative volume to them, in the slicer.
