I have very large trees over our above ground pool and am forever and a day emptying the skimmer. I designed and 3d printed (in PETG) the following pool net filter holder to protect the skimmer. I decided it was easiest (strongest and most adjustable) to use thick zip ties as opposed to bolts, but there are bolt holes, and I also exported a version that I combined both pieces as a single piece for added stability. Fusion 360 design is provided, enjoy!
