I made this design because I wanted a way to safely and conveniently store and transport my 3d catan tiles without risk of damage to the paint.
This design is intended for use with MikeJacobi's interlocking bases and Dakanzla's Catan-style boardgame 2.0
Loosely inspired by Froggieg's Catan tower storage
Interlocking tile margins are tight. I would strongly suggest printing a fitment sample of a tray to check if your tiles fit properly. adjust scale by a 1-2% if you experience issues.
The "handle" is intended to be glued in place. Whilst designing this I hadn't thought the attachment through very well, so it's a bit finicky to get it glued in, but when all tile layers are on the main stem it actually stays in place pretty well even without glue (absolutely use glue or something though)
I would suggest printing the stem slowly, especially if you have a printer with a moving print plate, since the long thin arms are very flexible and can wobble a bit while printing quickly.
I have designed all the trays with the same height, which can comfortably fit even the tallest tiles, so I don't need to put tiles on specific trays. It is possible to make the tower significantly compacter by adjusting the height of each tray to fit only certain tiles.
I made this design about a year ago, but only got around to posting it now, so I don't remember what settings I used to print it, but all parts should print relatively easily.
