If you are tight on space for your U1 this design may help. It allows to put the U1 tightly into a corner, moving the filament spools and the filament feeder to the other side of the printer. Saving you close to 20cm of width on the one side.
No changes to the U1 itself is required. All parts snap together and release.
The entire solution requires:
The relocator for the feeder you want to move: Left side or right side.
The relocator cover to cover where the relocated feeder sat. Just for niceness.
A feeder cable extension. I went with a 100cm version from aliexpress.com. Search terms: Extension Cable Snapmaker U1 Filament Feeder
Two 4mm bowden tubes, 70cm each. The original ones are not long enough to reach to the other side.
Print with dissimilar filaments for the design and supports. I used PETG for the design and PLA for supports.
